What is the “Systemic” economy? Why is it a key?

--

Do you want to understand “what’s happening for real” ?
You want to prepare the future with your families, companies, city and communities?
Would you like to get out of the grey, depressing, anxious and limp mass?
Would you like to learn more about how to manage the complexity of problems and opportunities?
Are you looking for solutions to attract and retain top talent and write your organization’s story?
Are you looking to connect to an international league of smart, courageous and powerful change-makers?
Then… follow and get initiated to systemic economy, according to Club of Brussels :

The economy is the set of activities of a human community related to production, distribution and consumption of wealth. Today, and too often, the criterion for evaluating economy is based on financial result after the fiscal year (creation of accumulated financial wealth).
Systemic economy is an economic model that considers that value is not only material and financial. It also takes into consideration the intangible, making the creation of multiple added value possible for an entire ecosystem of stakeholders.

3 pillars :

  1. Re-index

Measure tangible assets (environmental and financial assets) and processes; and take stock of intangible values (emotional, knowledge, motivation, talent) and intangible liabilities(unknown, demotivation, etc etc).

2. Re-connect:
Reconnect the different stakeholders of the ecosystem; connect their needs, their resources, their talents, their territories, their “raison d’être”.

3. Re-generate :
Setting up “Systemic Multi-solutions” (business models that respond to several problems and issues simultaneously), activities that regenerate people, planet, as well as economic circuits, and that contribute to common good.

In short, it is an economic model where the human being becomes an actor in the system, and not simply a consumer.

In this approach, systemic economy predicts that companies that will still be around in 20 years will be those that have been able to create as much human value as material value — and that the territories where it will be “good to live” will be resilient by design and by their collaborative and contributive culture.
In a way, the so-called “Systemic Economy” only brings together the best of other economic models: capitalist, circular, social, regenerative, symbiotic, biomimetic, ecosystemic, sharing, platform, blue, green,…
But, it requires a “homework”. A bit of homework because yes, it makes you rethink all the fundamentals. It’s only half a surprise. You can’t make something new out of something old. Let’s put the egos, anxieties, short term and naive agendas, illusions of another time,… in the fridge for 6 to 9 weeks… :
