Transition plans are a joke : it will take over 100 years. We HAVE to come up with something else, NOW.

What have we done since the “climate marches”, in 3 years ? Nope. Its time for truth now. The best “we have been able to” is to drive the whole population into MASS PSYCHOSE. There where we should be sitting calmly and get the best-in-class inspire us to act pragmatically towards collective progress. It is revolting that our “leaders” still dare to b..llsh.t us into such lies and false promises.

When we calculate a little bit with pragmatism and realism, on how much this whole transition story will cost, we end up with a cost of 20X the western GDP’s. And considering the amplitide of the jobs, and the manpower available, it will take over 75 years, following OECD calculations and if we progress at the current rate. (OECD (2019); see also Social Progress Imperative https://www.socialprogress.org/). See also our calculations for Belgium in our “Wise Paper 1”, with which we deserved our first front page in l’Echo. Following our calculations it will take 120 years. And we would have had to start all over 3 times by then. NOBODY dared to attack those colossal figures and our calculations. You know why ? Because nobody did those calculations. But worse, NOBODY was able to adress the challenges, enhanced since then, in smart ways.

It is abundantly clear that a much deeper, faster, and more ambitious response is needed to unleash the social and economic transformation needed to achieve our 2030 goals.”— António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations

Of course, if we insist on trying to deal with systemic challenges, in linear ways, we will even make more harm than good. Just see with the naked eye how the pandemic was managed. No comment.

Astonishing how well-trained, educated in the world’s best business schools and universities, bright people, scientists, still believe what they say publicly, in front of the next generations, without any shame. Forget conspirations, forget small-time political agendas, forget old-school managers trying to protect their salaries for their last few years till retirement. Lots of people are going to die, to suffer, just because a lack of collective intelligence and wise leadership. Thats it. ENOUGH.

That was the bad news. We’ve lost 5 decennia (since the alarmbell of Meadows @Club of Rome) , and destroyed 70% of all biodiverse life on earth since then. Greed and egoism was of course part of it…

The good news is that all answers are already here, on the planet, embedded in nature. Living ecosystems are thriving. We have learned from them, and tested new approaches on the field with early adopters. We started to apply this in territorial development, in sectorial disruptions and business model innovation. Low cost, low tech, empowering people, one by one.

The strategy is the following:

  • Train people on live projects, on systemic approaches to multiple & hypercomplex challenges management;
  • Empower them on-the-go and develop their talents and individual magic;
  • Create “Resilience Islands”: companies, communities, eco-developments, families, smart & wise cities;
  • Learn from them, and from the best-in-class experts and field changemakers — activate their collective intelligence, and rise awareness;
  • Double/triple them every 6 months.

And maybe, maybe we will survive as a species.
