Accelerating Massively Positive Impact: Keys to Deep Change for creating a “Planet B”
In a world facing multifaceted challenges, from environmental degradation to social inequality, the need for accelerating massively positive impact has never been more pressing. But how can we spark deep change that reverberates across society? Here, we delve into five essential elements to drive such transformative impact.
- Harnessing Intrinsic Motivation: At the core of any impactful change lies the individual’s desire for a resource or a better state of being. Whether it’s the pursuit of happiness, fulfillment of needs, or the aspiration for a better world, tapping into intrinsic motivation is key. By creating a strong perception of added value for each individual, we can inspire them to become part of the solution, aligning their desires with collective progress. Our Extrapreneurs are so happy to be oart of the solution. They are intrinsicly motivated to share and develop their project.
- Creating a Propitious Context: Context shapes behavior. Cultivating an environment conducive to change involves creating fertile spaces where ideas can flourish. Whether it’s through top-down directives or bottom-up initiatives, genuine involvement and nurturing from leadership are crucial. Understanding the culture and timing is essential. Fear of consequences can act as a constraint, but it’s also an opportunity to drive action through necessity. But, the major move will come from the bottom: pushed by desire to “survive and thrive”. The key is : open and nurture quality space… to give birth to a new paradigm. It is the womb of a new civilization. Offer ourselves some time (2 months), quality space (Regenerative Islands with their Superincubators), a strong method (Extrapreneurs training).
- Channeling Energy and Building Momentum: Energy for deep change often originates from the grassroots level. Identifying the critical mass or tipping point within communities is key to igniting action. Concentrating efforts on those who are more change-ready can yield greater impact than spreading resources thinly. Energy begets energy, and by leveraging available resources and technologies, we can accelerate momentum towards transformation. Love, benevolence, positve happiness, are soooo much more interesting and motivating than fear or obligation.
- Leveraging Group Dynamics: Like the harmony of an orchestra or the synergy of a football team, group dynamics play a pivotal role in driving change. Creating a sense of belonging, fostering engagement, and leveraging social norms can influence behavior positively. Harnessing the power of storytelling and narrative, particularly highlighting short-term benefits, can inspire action. Accessibility, recognition, and measurability further reinforce participation and commitment. Don’t go alone. Create groups with the same positive vibes — each one with personal skills and unique added value, willing to share.
- Enhancing Accessibility and Simplicity: Making change accessible and simple is paramount. From low-cost solutions to user-friendly technologies, reducing barriers to entry is essential. Green initiatives should be perceived as a process — rather than a static state, with easy-to-understand methodologies and tools for widespread adoption. Access to information, coupled with a sense of belonging and recognition, empowers individuals to take ownership of change. Our program is financially accessible, the knowledge base free and open source, the communication is click-button. The narrative is strong and mobilizing (we are creating a Planet B)
- Fast-Fun-Financially performant: results should come fast — instead of super long term (otherwise people will discourage). The process should be fun — instead of fearful or obliged (otherwise peoplke will not go for it). The outcome should be performant, job-creating, profitable — instead of subsidized (otherwise it will just stop at end of grants). Gaming is an ideal accelerator. Everything we do is, by design, fast)fun-profitable.
- Multiplyable common denominator: The process should include a system which empowers each one to engage and talk about ot aroudn them, with passion. That piece should include the core added value for each one : recognition, short term tangible value, a perception of happiness, easy way to share. We are the Airbnb of planetary regeneration.
Conclusion: In driving massively positive impact for deep change, we must embrace the principle of emergence. By catalyzing, reassuring, and offering tools, we enable the organic evolution of change. Each individual’s actions, no matter how small, contribute to the collective transformation. As we navigate the complexities of our world, let us harness intrinsic motivation, create conducive contexts, channel energy, leverage group dynamics, and enhance accessibility to accelerate towards a brighter future for all.
